Went downtown to Red Square again today hoping to see more then we did the day before but...once again everything was closed because of the Olympic Torch thing,,,shops weren't but the things we wanted to see like Lennon's tomb, and other government sites.  So we walked thru a mall that had spendy sites and decided to go get a cab to go back to the ship,  Russians are kind of crazy drivers, they go across several lanes of traffic no turn signals, they cut in front of each other and you never hear a horn honk at all!  Linda, Patsy and Mary Lou all bought tickets to the ballet so when we got back they had to turn around and leave again,  I was so glad to have the time to myself.  I packed, did the blog and had a beer, talked with the ship piano player for about an hour.  He is from the Philippines and told me all about his country and how he came to work for Viking Cruises,  The gang then returned from the ballet and we had a dinner snack and Linda packed ...I didn't help much as I was tired and crashed!

Went to Red Square this AM.  The weather is absolutely gorgeous, hardly needed a coat.  Unfortunately couldn't get to the changing of the guard, Lenin's tomb. and others on the list because of the Olympic Torch Ceremony,  It arrived from Greece four hours before we got to the square.  Shopped a bit and found a Starbucks - always one of those,  Took a cab back to the ship went to the Bolshoi Ballet to see Don Quixote,   Amazing unlike any other ballet,  Audience gave 5 curtain calls,  Left the theater in the dark as all lights were turned off on the mall as there was a laser and light show.  Many people used their iPhones to see where they were walking.  Started packing looks like it will be a challenge.  Tomorrow it is Faberge eggs and a cemetery where a lot of important people are buried.
